If you type resveratrol into a search engine, it will offer you a range of different products, prices, manufacturers and qualities. How to distinguish good from poor quality? How to decide on a good product?
A tip first: always look for trans-resveratrol and not cis-resveratrol.
First of all, select only products containing trans-resveratrol and not cis-resveratrol in the search hits! This should be regarded as the step one of the elimination process. From studies conducted by David Sinclair, a professor in the Department of Genetics and co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Centre for Biology of Aging Research at Harvard Medical School, cis-resveratrol does not activate the enzyme sirtuin, while trans-resveratrol does.
The next elimination process should focus on the purity of the product. Do not buy a product that has less than 98% guaranteed purity. Lower product purity (less than 90) can cause diarrhea and malaise.
Do your research regarding the manufacturer, the laboratory where the product originated and whether the product’s quality was verified by an official laboratory.
Another tip about taking resveratrol. Take resveratrol in the morning, with a tablespoon of full-fat yogurt, as this increases its effectiveness. Studies by Professor David Sinclair showed that the absorption of fat-free resveratrol was five times lower than when resveratrol was ingested in combination with fats. You can also replace yogurt with other sources of fat.
Top-quality trans-resveratrol of the highest quality, made and tested in a verified laboratory in Europe, can be purchased in our online store.
